The municipality of Hněvice, called Hnewitz by the Germans, is about 2 km southeast from the town of Štětí with which it is integrated. In 1888, Hněvice was occupied by 150 residents of the Czech nation. After 112 years, during the 2000 census, 137 residents lived in Hněvice. Several years ago the local railroad became part of the main Berlin - Prague – Vienna railway corridor. Hněvice railway station platform was completely redeveloped during the corridor reconstruction and modernization from 1999 - 2001 with a passage under the railroad structure. At the same time, the railway under bridge, which did not allow higher vehicles, was redeveloped. According to the architectonic decoration of the frontage, the railway station building dates back to the period between the World Wars (1924).
