It is a part of the Chcebuz cadastral area and together they are integrated into the town of Štětí. In 1888, Veselí had 196 residents with German nationality living in 26 houses. During the 2000 census, 30 permanent residents were recorded. The village lies by the road from Chcebuz to Újezd. On the village periphery, close to the Baroque-style gamekeeper's lodge, there is a large overgrown reed fishpond. From the natural point of view, this location is valuable due to the instance of especially protected amphibian species and it forms the function of the sole biotope suitable for their reproduction. Veselí consists of two inconsistent parts not linked by any roads. The newer local part consisted of feudal yard called Sukoradský Yard that was a part of Drahobuz demesne in the 17th century. One of the owners, Count Josef Johann Maxmilian Kinski, cancelled Sukoradský Yard and the associated lands in 1740 and sold them to local settlers. In this way, the village with the original name of Fröhlichsdorf (Happy Village) was established. Since 1757, the village has belonged to Liběchov including the Chcebuz demesne. The village has several houses from the early 19th century and a simple column chapel. By the church road from Nedonosy to Chcebuz, which is unused today, there is a wonderful rock chapel in the forests.
